I almost never say this, but sometimes you need to streamline just a little bit. Just a little bit! And these are my answer to that. They still give all chunkiness and all the length but without the chains there's just a sleeker line happening. This means it plays really well with a necklace that has lots of chains, you know, by offsetting it if you don't want to go whole hog (no disrespect to hogs or the whole hog vibe both of which are lovely). Or it amplifies when you've gone simple on other aspects of your look.
And I don't know, for me this earring just anchors an outfit. Whether it's on its own or in combo, it brings weight and depth and just kind of connects things up again. I'm a big fan of putting this on when I'm confused about what I'm going to wear, one or two of these and I'm already on the right track - the outfit just builds itself.
Like all my bigger earring designs, it was made after I made vow that no statement earring should have to be jettisoned half way through the day or night. So despite it's heft it's light enough to wear all day and night should you be so inclined.
